Interested in becoming a Coach ?

PMRC is always looking for Indivduals to join our coaching team, at any level. You do not need to be a former racer, or expert skier to start your coaching journey, just a love for skiing, fun and the outdoors. All of our coachs are ACA and NCCP certified. Benefits of Coaching For PMRC:

  • Free Coaching Course* – Every year during Christmas break, PMRC in partnership with Skinb and ACA offers an entry level coaching course. If your selected and become a committed PMRC coach after this course, the cost of the enrollment to the course will be reimbursed at the end of the season.
  • Access to great Coaching mentors – PMRC has designated Lead coachs/mentors to support you as you develop your coaching skills and support you with day to day lesson plans.
  • Access to continuing education –  PMRC  is fortunate to have 2 ACA coach education facilitators in our club.   We  have some of the best trained coachs per ratio in Atlantic canada, with 3 PL trained coachs on staff, and several DL certified.
  • Competitive Compensation – Our coaches are compensated via contract with competitive daily rates, as well travel costs are covered for events. As a bonus, Poley Mountain Resort generously provides a Staff Pass to commited PMRC coachs*(minimum days committement required)

Commitment

Your time Commitment will vary depending on what level and age group you are assigned to coach:

  • Snowstars – snowstar hours are typically 4 hour-4.5 horus per day, One Day a weekend from 845-2pm, for 8-10 weekends (option to do 2). There is 1-2 optional events that some coachs are choosen to travel too(expenses paid)
  • U10-U12 Competitive program – Coaches are typically on snow Saturday, Sunday and some holiday break weekdays for 5 -6 hours a day. there are 2-3 events they attend.
  • U14 Competitive program – Coaches are on snow all weekends + wendays and school breaks. Attend 3-4 events a year.
